SRTS Announces Oregon Fall Challenge Winners

srts-winner-imageThe Safe Routes to School National Partnership is invested in creating healthy, thriving communities and schools.  Fire Up Your Feet provides an opportunity for students to participate in a Physical Activity Challenge by tracking PE, recess, classroom stretch breaks, dances, school walks, anything active! Our goal is to inspire kids, parents, teachers, and the community to incorporate physical activity into their current everyday routine.

During the Fall 2016 Activity Challenge, Oregon had 65 active schools and approximately 19,000 participants. Twenty-one cities in Oregon participated, from Albany to Tigard, Baker City to Beaverton and Bend to Scotts Mills and thirty-four of the 65 participating schools were low-income schools. The number of schools participating in the challenge for the first time ever was 34!
