School Garden Coordinator Certificate Training

We are enrolling for our Fall 2014 School Garden Coordinator Certificate Training program. This training was created to to share best practices for building, using and maintaining school and youth food gardening programs in our region. The training is offered with optional continuing education credits through Portland State University’s Graduate School of Education for additional tuition and coursework.

The training is taught by local community experts and topicsĀ covered include:

  • community organizing and school garden committee development
  • garden infrastructure
  • teaching garden-based activities
  • adding garden grown produce to school meals
  • resource development
  • program evaluation and sustainability and more!

Upcoming School Garden Coordinator Certificate trainings:

Two Week Intensive, FallĀ 2014: October 23, 24, 25 and November 6, 7 & 8. Classes will run from 2-5pm on Thursdays and 9-4pm on Fridays and Saturdays. An optional session on working with Portland Public Schools Facilities and Nutrition Services will be held on November 5th from 5:30-7:30.
