This month’s new Board Member Spotlight is on Kaci Radcliffe, Member at Large. Welcome Kaci to the Board!
“As an Energy Analyst for the Oregon Department of Energy, I provide technical and project assistance to schools and state agencies to better understand their buildings and find simple ways to save energy and money. I also work as the agency’s Sustainability Coordinator to implement sustainable business practices and integrate sustainability into our programs and services. While I am new to Oregon Green Schools, I have been working in public sector conservation and education for over 10 years and am always excited to build new relationships and programs that improve our community.
I was born and raised in Alaska (yes, I love to share bear and fishing stories!). My passion for the environment and education comes from spending weekends hiking with my father and helping my mother who is a special education teacher. I moved to the “Lower 48” to attend college, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science and a Minor in Environmental Education. Since then, I have been working for local and state government in the fields of environmental conservation, sustainable community development, and management of natural and built resources. For the past five years, I have specialized in sustainability and resource conservation by implementing a variety of energy efficiency, waste and water conservation, and climate education and grant programs. I love to spend my weekends hiking and camping throughout Oregon, playing volleyball, and learning to garden.”
