Cascade Mountain school is excited to share their 2017 line-up of summer camps and adult & family workshops with you!
They’ve got favorite standbys, like MacGyver day and MacGyver overnight camps and a college-credit science course for high school students. They’re also offering new camps, like primitive skills for little ones and soul school for high school & gap year students. They’re also offering introductory backpacking courses for middle school students.
They’ve also expanded their Trout Lake day camp offerings to include full-day camps running from 9 am to 3 pm to meet the needs of more families. Again, an optional shuttle from Hood River and Bingen is available.
Cascade Mountain School also has adult and their family nature-based offerings on the third Saturday of each month. Their kick-off Saturday will be on January 21st, and they will host their animal tracking hike at 10 am with trackers Adam Hyde and Dave Martin. Register here if you already know you want to join!
This year, the four campuses in the Trout Lake area where their camps and experiences unfold:
* Wild Campus: Mt. Adams itself, an amazing playground of cascading waterfalls, glaciers, and forests,
* Forest Campus: Our rustic camp facility under the Ponderosa pines on US Forest Service land behind the Mt. Adams Ranger District Office,
* Farm Campus: Students live and participate in animal husbandry and farm chores at Broadfork Farm, a working organic farm in the Trout Lake Valley, and
* Contemplative Campus: A spiritual retreat center to learn about land stewardship and mindfulness, the Trout Lake Abbey, has elegant amenities, a labyrinth, and stunning views of Mt. Adams.
Additionally, Cascade Mountain School offers needs-based scholarships for motivated students through the generosity of their donors.
